Amid bankruptcy, Pizza Hut operator seeks to reject leases at multiple Peoria-area stores
National restaurant chain Pizza Hut, LLC is sparring with area operator EYM Pizza over a slew of potential lease rejections proposed amid ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
On Dec.
26, the attorney for EYM Pizza, L.P. filed a motion to reject its leases at 88 locations across Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina and Wisconsin. According to an objection filed on behalf of Pizza Hut, this represents more than two-thirds of EYM Pizza’s roughly 126 Pizza Hut storefronts.
If granted, the motion could affect nine Pizza Hut locations in the Peoria area.
The Journal Star reviewed EYM Pizza, L.P., et al.’s motion to reject the leases, as well as the Jan.
