Dinara Mubinovna Safina was born on April 27, 1986, in the USSR.

She grew up in a sports-oriented family, alongside her brother Marat Safin, who became a well-known Russian tennis player. Her mother, Ruza Islanova, a former graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture, worked as a coach after her professional career.
