Biography of Max Liebermann
Max Liebermann was a German artist and engraver of Jewish origin, considered one of the leading representatives of Impressionism outside of France.
He was born on July 20, , in Berlin, into a wealthy Jewish family. His grandfather, Josef Liebermann, was a well-known textile businessman who laid the foundation for the family's financial prosperity.
From an early age, Liebermann showed a talent for drawing and painting.
